"Experience Sharing on International Students Management during the COVID-19 Situation" Held Successfully

"Experience Sharing on International Students Management during the COVID-19 Situation", one of the online programmes of 2020 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week,
has been held successfully both online and offline on 22nd Sept 2020. This programme is hosted by Guizhou University and co-organized by The Secretariat of the Organizing
Committee of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week. Guizhou University, Guizhou Minzu University, Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, Guizhou Medical University, Guizhou
Education University, Guizhou Institute of Technology, and Guiyang University attend the on-site meeting, while Zunyi Medical University, Guizhou Communications Polytechnic, Qiannan
Normal University for Nationalities and 7 universities from Malaysia, Thailand, Lao PDR, Japan and The United States participated the meeting via video link. The attendees discussed their
practice of international students management after the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, such as mental-health counselor, supplies support, teaching arrangement, students management
and personal security. The experience and methods shared in this meeting are beneficial to the universities in facing the unprecedented challenge and offering the international students proper
teaching and management.

The participating universities shared experience about "international cooperation and academic practice during COVID-19 pandemic", "international students management experience
during COVID-19 pandemic", and how to offer satisfying service for international students while effectively prevent and control the pandemic.

With the support of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, the number of international students studying in China in 2019 has been in a steady growth and the sources of
international students is being optimized. Guizhou Province attaches great importance to the opening-up in education and takes "Study in Guizhou" as one of the priorities. The outbreak
of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 is not only a challenge for international cooperation in education but also a severe test of service and management of international students. In this
special moment, universities have to keep teaching and learning going on, and to make sure the international students, a group featuring its uniqueness, maintain normal living standards
and enjoy both mental and physical health. This meeting further promoted mutual understanding among universities from different countries, and enhanced their abilities of meeting the
emergency in the management of international students, which promises an extensive cooperation among the universities in and after the pandemic.
