The 4th "My ASEAN & China" Multimedia Art Exhibition Series: The Adobe of Peace – Brunei Opens in Guiyang

On September 16th, the 4th "My ASEAN and China" Multimedia Art Exhibition Series: Land of Peace – Brunei opened at the International Eco-Conference Center, Guiyang.


The officials present at the opening ceremony were Chen Mingming, Vice Governor of Guizhou Province; Magdalene Teo, Brunei Ambassador to China; Ma Mingqiang, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre; Luo Zhaohui, Ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China; Lada Phumas, Director of Information and Public Relation Division of  ASEAN-China Centre; Rita Zhao, a well-known artist; Wang Wenyang, Deputy Secretary-general of the People's Government of Guizhou Province; Huo Jiankang, Director of Guizhou Provincial Department of Education; Wu Pengcheng, President of Guizhou Normal University; Zou Keyang, Vice Secretary of Party Committee and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission of Guizhou Normal University.


The Exhibition was hosted by ASEAN-China Centre, Brunei Embassy and Provincial Department of Education, and organized by Guizhou Normal University. Wu Pengcheng, Present of Guizhou Normal University, presided over the opening ceremony. Visitors to the Exhibition included photographers from Guizhou Province, members of Photographic Society of Guizhou Insitutions of Higher Learning, as well as some teachers and students from China and ASEAN universities.




Chen Mingming, Vice Governor of Guizhou Province, said in his speech that, with the theme  of “Mutual Progress, Practical Cooperation, Win-win Results” at the 6th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW),, China and ASEAN would strengthen intercollegiate cooperation in talent cultivation for mutual development, common prosperity and everlasting friendship. Chen also expressed his hope for mutual understanding through this series of multimedia art exhibition and other activities during the CAECW.


Ambassador Magdalene Teo said that cultural exchange was a very important part of the exchange and cooperation between China and Brunei. It played a unique role in enhancing mutual trust and friendship between the two peoples. The frequent cultural exchanges indicate the close relationship, and the exhibition bridges the two cultures, said he.


Ma Mingqiang, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre, sang high praise for such forms of cultural exchange. Through the camera lens of the photographers’, he said, more people in Guizhou and China would understand Brunei, and accordingly become participants, supporters, and promoters of China-ASEAN amity and cooperation. He hoped that visitors could see the friendship and cooperation between China and ASEAN when appreciating the pictures. 


The exhibition displays more than 200 pictures and the oil paintings entitled Revelation of the Ocean, most of which are from the well-known artist Ms. Rita Zhao. These works reflect the natural scenery and ethnic characteristics of Brunei, and unfold the beautiful and attractive Brunei before the visitors’ eyes.
